I just do some quick experiment on rachel lady and student president rachel, they are same. I have test by rest her status and i add INT the attack still same, only when i increase DEX the base attack increase. So rachel status will work like shooting, just her attack damage work like magic..

The character status will calculate base on character formula and the result will place in base attack..etc as below :


the information just base on my experiment .. You can try experiment every character by talk to master guardian to reset the status point each cost 200K vis and try to increase each status and see how many base attack increase..etc

[Javed]
 
A second-generation immigrant in the New Continent, born to a mother who was an alchemist exiled
from Illier and a father from Ciam.
 
She lost both her parents due to an unknown phenomenon that occurred in Porto Bello. Afterwards, she
was rescued by Karin who happened to be there, investigating the phenomenon. She left for Illier with
Karin.
 
Soon she joined the witchcraft troops and trained as Karin’s assistant and the [poison alchemist].
 
As she continued investigating the cruel incident in Porto Bello, she became more and more suspicious.
 
And at that time, Teresia sent her a request to deliver a potion and so she headed to Granado Espada.

Q: What lead to the development of Javed?
G: [Javed] is the character that won the character contest in Thailand. We tried to highlight her original
concept of being an [alchemist] who specializes in[poison] and tell the secret story about the collapse of
Porto Bello.
 
Q: What is the most striking feature of the character?
G: It’s [Laing], a chimera created by her mother who was an [alchemist]. All her skills except for one are
related to [Laing]. We developed the skills and added dialogues in order to emphasize that [Laing] was
created to protect [Javed] and that [Javed] cares about [Laing].

[Character Introduction]
- Javed uses a [magic scroll] and wears [robe] armor.
- Her skills can inflict debuffs related to [poison]. Skill ATK increases if a target has a [poison] related
debuff.
 
[Job Skill]
- [Javed]’s job skill, [Wake Laing] wakes up [Laing] who is sleeping in her bag, to prepare for battle.
- This job skill increases [Javed]’s basic ATK, skill ATK, and ATK Rating.
 
[Stance]
[Javed]’s exclusive stance, [Intoxication] is a combination of magic she learned from the Illier Witchcraft
Troops and her guardian, [Laing].
 
A normal attack strikes 2 times and deals [area effect damage]. It’s an offensive stance which applies
100 Accuracy, 30 Penetration, and 15 Immunity at level 25.



[Skill]
▶ [Poison Tail]
- It’s an instant skill that has a 9 sec cooldown and strikes enemies in a range of 8m x 40 degrees.
- It adds damage to a target with a [poison] related debuff.
- When the [Wake Laing] buff is active, there's no damage increase due to poison debuffs; however skill
damage doubles.
- Upon using the skill, the [Wake Laing] buff is cancelled.





▶ [Poison Bomb]
- It’s a skill that has 30 sec cooldown and a max range of 10m x 7m radius.
- [Poison Bomb] stays active on the location the skill is cast and it attacks up to 7 times.
- Each attack has a chance of inflicting the [Intoxicated] debuff.







▶ [Toxic Ivy]
- It’s a charging skill that has 15 sec cooldown and a max range of 10m x 6m radius.
- It increases damage in proportion to charging time and adds more damage to monsters at max casting.
- It adds damage to a target with a [poison] related debuff.







▶ [Toxic Breath]
- It’s a channeling skill that has 21 sec cooldown and strikes enemies in a range of 15m x 40 degrees.
- The skill attacks up to 10 times for the duration and it can be cancelled when reusing it while being cast.
- Each attack has a 10% chance of inflicting [Venom].
- It adds damage to a target with a [poison] related debuff.
- When the [Wake Laing] buff is active, there’s no damage increase due to poison debuffs; however skill
damage doubles.
- Upon using the skill, the [Wake Laing] buff is cancelled.





▶ [Toxic Reaction]
- It’s a skill that has 37 sec cooldown and strikes enemies within 10m of the character.
- It has a 30% chance of inflicting [Poison].
- It adds damage to a target with a [poison] related debuff.
- When the [Wake Laing] buff is active, there’s no damage increase due to poison debuffs; however skill damage doubles.
- Upon using the skill, the [Wake Laing] buff is cancelled.

[Developer’s Comments]
- [Javed] is a character which can deal high damage by inflicting debuffs.
- In order to maximize her attacks against monsters, you should include characters that can inflict
[poison] debuffs in your MCC.
- You can gain the upper hand in PVP battles using the [Poison Bomb] skill.
- Aside from the damage increase due to debuffs, her job skill, [Wake Laing] will help you deal instant
and high damage.

For melee attack and defend, If the Attacker and Defender have same AR and DR (assume there is not bonus in ARDR, no pen/immu, so everything will base on basic attack ) , The Attacker AR will cancel defender DEF point.. in order to reduce attacker to minimum damage, the DEF point is Attacker AR + 190 , With DEF of Attacker AR + 190 , we will receive 5% of damage . If Attacker  have higher AR then our DR , then the 5% will multiply with each AR-DR point with 10% .

Example 1: Attacker AR 77 , AtK 100,000 ,  Our DR is 77 With DEF 267 (77 + 190) , So we can reduce 100,000 damage to 5000.

Example 2: Attacker AR 77 , Atk 100,000 , Our DR is 67 , with DEF  267 (77+190), by calculation we will reduce damage to 5000, and due to AR -DR = 10 and maximum increment is 5 , so the attacker gain 50% damage , so the final damage will be 7500.

Above example assume there is no penetration or immu, or the immu able to cancel pentration into zero, or else additional penetration will gain 1% of damage.



From the experiment now i understand how important the DEF value..

I have test with rachel lady , she magic attack , because i increase the defend of the scarecrow it make not different in damage only increase RES will reduce the damage..

I found some weapon with Additional Ice attack , that ice attack will go into magic even the weapon sword or any melee weapon.. So i guess that will go into melee damage calculation and magic damage calculation and the final damage will sum up together?

Actually her design is fine, the issue is how every top tier nuker simply does better damage without any real conditions or setup.

The problem is how IMC is awful at character balancing in general.

Yes, thematically design is fine and character model is good. Skill functionality, not so much.
